City Opera House invites regional high school students to submit an original one-act play – 9-12 pages with 4 characters or less – to the 8th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. The deadline is Fri., Dec. 14. Finalists are paired with national theater mentors, win $100 & see their play performed on the City Opera House stage.

City Opera House
Up to 5 presenters will take the stage each month to promote their technology-related new venture or product.
Presenters will be announced one week before the meeting.
Each presenter will be allowed 5-minutes to present and 5-minutes of question and answers (time limits will be strictly enforced). Between each presenter, the audience will be allowed to make brief announcements for things such as job openings, persons seeking employment, other events happening in the area related to technology, etc… The audience will be made up of technology minded people and consist of mostly of programmers, IT staff, people looking for opportunities for their tech company, tech companies looking for staff, individuals looking for an investment opportunity, start-up founders looking for investors and tech geeks that just like learning about new things. There is no charge to attend or to present.

Original works in all media will be accepted for consideration (including but not limited to painting, electronic, experimental 2D, glass, ceramics, wood, photography and other traditional and nontraditional art forms). Entries must have been completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited at the Oliver Art Center. 2D work including fiber must be framed, or finished, and ready to hang with wire or 2 rings if heavy (no saw-tooth hangers). 3D work must be ready for display. Please include any special instructions.
New Years Weekend Cabin Trip

Celebrate the new year at a 40-acre secluded cabin on Higgins Lake. We’ll meet Saturday, December 30 for 2 nights at an Airbnb in Higgins Lake, https://tcre.today/NewYearAirbnb not far from hiking trails at Hartwick Pines State Park, the Mason tract pathway, cross country skiing headquarters in Roscommon, and cross country or regular skiing at Hanson Hills in Grayling. On Saturday morning, December 30th, we’ll check into the cabin (or meet at one of the spots listed above first), and then decide from the options on what to do. Some of us can head to the cross country ski headquarters in Roscommon Saturday
